Mwala MP Eng Vincent Musyoka Musau is among the vocal youthful politicians in Ukambani region.
He is currently serving his second term in office having been re-elected in the 2017 general election on a Maendeleo Chap Chap Party (MCCP) ticket.
The MP is a close ally of Governor Alfred Mutua and there is talk that he could bid for the Machakos gubernatorial seat in the forthcoming 2022 general election.
However, as the 2022 succession politics takes shape across the political divide, it seems that the Mwala legislator could have after all joined the ‘Tanga Tanga’ movement associated with Deputy President William Ruto.
The lawmaker enjoys a cordial political relationship with DP Ruto and has been quoted saying that he (Ruto) is fit for the presidency in 2022.
On Saturday, the Mwala legislator accampanied DP Ruto to Narok East where he (Ruto) was launching development projects.
The MP when he spoke in Narok East castigated opposition leader Raila Odinga claiming that he is the people’s conman.
In a video widely shared on social media, the MP claimed that Raila is allegedly involved in the fake gold scandal.
The Mwala MP’s association with team Tanga Tanga is likely to generate debate owing to the fact that he is a member of Maendeleo Chap Chap Party and his party leader (Alfred Mutua) has declared interest to contest the presidency in the upcoming 2022 general election.
Musau is likely to be among Kamba politicians to drum up support for DP Ruto's presidency in 2022. Should this happen it will be a blow to Governor Mutua who has insisted that his name will be on the presidential ballot in 2022.
By the time of this publication, the Mwala MP was yet to respond to inquiries sent to his social media platforms by this writer on whether he has abandoned Maendeleo Chap Chap and joined team Tanga Tanga.
