Machakos residents have gone berserk on famous witch doctor Anna Mutheu's arrest.
The locals are now making incessant jokes about the Tala based herbalists' arrest.
They have not only taken their "gossips" to social media but also small groups formed specifically to discuss the matter.
A spot check conducted by this writer across the county on Thursday revealed that many people believe her "juju" had lost power since she was unable to evade the arrest.
Others questioned why she was unable to help herself, yet she claims to help people find solutions to their troubles.
"She should have done her "juju" so that the policemen see darkness or she could have even disappeared into thin air during the raid, but instead, she kept making frantic calls to her son blaming him of her misery," Tala resident Walter Musyoki said.
On the day of Mutheu's arrest, residents who didn't blink milled around her house expecting a "miracle" to happen, only to see her being driven out of her compound under heavy security.
As much as many condemned and accused her of hiding behind the "witch doctor" title to engage in criminal activities, others sympathised with her arguing that there could be a mishap somewhere.
Anna Mutheu Ndunda was arrested on Tuesday at her home by flying squad police on claims of being involved in a car theft syndicate.
The flying squad commissioner Musa Yego said they raised the house searching for guns after a lead from one of the suspects they had arrested.
