Borabu MP Ben Momanyi has yet again dismissed claims that he endorsed Deputy President William Ruto for the top post when he visited Nyamira.
Three weeks ago, Ruto traversed the larger Nyamira County where several MPs among them Joash Nyamoko and Jerusha Momanyi endorsed his bid.
With the DP set to return again this Friday to Nyamira, Momanyi insists that he never supported him, adding that he's keen to focus on development.
He accused the media of quoting him out of context, adding that he shall focus on working with development conscious people.
"I think the media quoted me out of context. I only said that I will work closely with development conscious people and that's all," he said.
"I rarely talk about 2022. When that time comes, we shall be in the field and the best candidate shall win whichever competition. That's the principle."
Mr Momanyi who was speaking at his constituency on Sunday, was elected on a Wiper party ticket. He's serving his second term in parliament.
On Friday, he was among several legislators who received Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i, who is believed to be eyeing presidency as well.
