A section of MPs from Nakuru has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to come out publicly and say the state of affairs within the Jubilee party.
The MPs also want Uhuru to break his silence and tell Kenyans if he still stands with his words that he will support his deputy in 2022.
Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama, Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria, and Kuresoi South MP Joseph Tunoi said ‘things have changed so much’ since President Kenyatta shook hands with Raila Odinga.
“We need to understand some few things about the handshake and why things have suddenly changed in Jubilee.
“Those are issues we need to be clarified. We also want the President to reaffirm his commitment to support Ruto in 2022,” Arama told the Standard.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Gikaria who blamed the handshake over the ongoing complaints within Jubilee.
“When we started in 2013, the President and his deputy agreed to work together and end hostility among communities in the country. But since the handshake, things seem to be falling apart,” Gikaria said.
The MPs said those issues should be discussed on Tuesday, July 3 if there will be Jubilee Parliamentary Group meeting.
