Led by Bishop Wilson Kurui, the locals lamented that despite the road being only 10 kilometres from the Eldoret-Nakuru highway, relevant authorities have failed to improve its condition.

Kurui who spoke on behalf of the locals in Eldoret town on Friday pointed out that the road is impassable especially during the ongoing rains.

"From Ngeria Junction to Ngeria girls is only 10km but pathetic. It is wrong when women give birth on the roads because there are no good roads, farmers inputs get rotten and milk taken to industry get there late overtime ending up being rejected because of the worse road to Ngeria," said Bishop Kurui.

"People living there are innocent Kenyans who elected leaders to fight for their rights," he added.

The locals have now organized for a public forum so as to discuss on the way forward over the condition of the road.

The meeting is meant to bring together local leaders, locals as well as road users ranging from bodaboda operators.

"We call upon all leaders and residents to come on Saturday we discuss the way forward on our road. All the bodaboda using the road, farmers and leaders should come and listen to our grievance on this road," said Bishop Kurui.
