The one-day meet-the-people tour by the deputy president William Ruto in Garissa county on Monday saw the residents reap major multi-million projects from the visit.

The Deputy President started the commissioning of two mega water projects funded by the county government of Garissa.

The project is projected to serve several households in Iftin ward and ADC area that were previously characterized shortage of the crucial commodity.

The DP later joined several County and National government leaders at Garissa Primary School ground for a funds drive for three Islamic institutions in the constituency, before he proceeded to Garissa KMTC where he handed over a brand new bus and promised to build more hostels for the institution from the 30 million the national government has already set aside for the project.

The DP finally launched the construction of Dekaburi, Garissa Ndogo- Sankuri link road.

The 480.7 million project is being conducted by the Kenya Urnam Road Authority and is expected to be completed in June next year.
