She was responding to ex-Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale's tweet, which asserted she was shouted down for castigating Deputy President William Ruto.

In a rejoinder, Chege told Khalwale that no one was heckled in Murang'a and that it was a beautiful event.

"..wish you were in Murang’a.... no one heckled...it was a beautiful event," she noted.

Khalwale had earlier stated that Chege was "cut down to size" by her constituents over her alleged opposition of DP Ruto presidency in 2022.

"Murang'a County woman MP Sabina Chege was today cut down to size when she was booed at home for disparaging the DP. Forcing her to cry!" Khalwale's post read adding "THE HUSTLER NATION IS REAL!. Tribalism aside! A nation of Kenyans minus the dynasties. The die is cast!"

The women leaders contributed Sh2 million which will be channelled towards various women groups.
