Nairobi County Senator Johnston Sakaja will on Friday issue a keynote address at Kibabii University.
His address will make him the first high-level politician to address the institution since it became a fully-fledged university.
The Nairobi Senator will join other leaders that the university has invited to address the students from March 20.
The keynote address comes just one week before the National Drama Festival kicks off at the university which will play host to the 60th National Film and Drama Festivals.
Kibabii University Dean of Students Dr.Noel Malanda in an exclusive interview with Hivisasa said they are focused to uplift the stature and professionalism of their students.
"We are committed as the institution to see our students get acquainted with top national leaders," she said.
"The presence of the Nairobi Senator is an avenue for our students to get a positive impact on academia," she added.
Sakaja early this month marshalled his fellow legislators in support of the unemployed graduates who were being compelled to pay debts they owe to the Higher Education Loans Board(HELB).
Students at the university have expressed optimism in meeting Senator Sakaja.
"I will be glad to personally meet the Senator. He has been my role model together with Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr," said Stephen Odhiambo, a fourth-year student.
