President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again ignored former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar in his latest appointments for state jobs.
According to the latest gazette notice, top Coast politicians landed top government jobs. However, Omar who lost in his bid for Mombasa Governor during the 2017 election is conspicously missing, again.
Former Taita Taveta Senator Dan Mwazo was appointed new chairman for the Kenya Ferry Services board.
Also appointed is former Lamu Women Representative Shackila Abdalla, who takes over as chairperson of Child Welfare. So far, of all the top Coast politicians who lost in 2017, Omar is among those who are yet to get a goverent job.
When he dumped Wiper Party for Jubilee Party in the run to the repeat presidential election in October 2017, many predicted that the former Senator was headed for a top government. However, it was not to be. And almost two years later, Omar is still languishing in political cold. Will President Kenyatta one day come to his rescue?
Even as he continues maintaining an uncharacteristic political silence, the former Wiper Secretary General is playing his cards close to his chest-leaving opponents guessing on his next move.
