Pastor Wilfred Lai of the Mombasa based Jesus Celebration Centre (JCC) has warned Christians against worshipping on Sunday.
In an undated video shared by Community SDA Church of Englewood, NJ, Pastor Lai says Sunday worship is of the devil.
“I am telling you the truth. I am not a prophet of doom; I am a prophet of God. I am telling you, this thing about Sunday is what has weakened the Church more than demons, more than Satan, more than all the witches. Sunday worship is the greatest witchcraft of the Church,” he said.
Ironically, Lai like most Christians in the country and across the world worship on Sunday.
According to the founder of the Jesus Celebration Centre International, Sunday worship was the intention of the devil to weaken the Church.
“I am not suggesting. This is the truth. This is the revelation,” he tells JCC’s congregation.
He said that God worked for six days and rested on the seventh day, which according to him is not Sunday.
The story of creation is narrated in the Bible in the book of Genesis 1:1-31. The Bible says that God created the universe, the earth, animals and plants and man from the first to the sixth day, before resting on the seventh day which came to be known as the Sabbath.
Members of the Seventh Day Adventist go to church on Saturday due to the belief that it is the Seventh-day which God rested.
