Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has welcomed Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s move to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Mutua took to social media where he lauded Kalonzo’s step to back the Jubilee administration
He said the move was laudable, adding that it is good for the common 'mwananchi'.
Mutua stated that he has nothing personal against Kalonzo.
Kalonzo, just like the governor, has hinted at contesting for Presidency in 2022 polls.
“I have no vendetta or problem with Kalonzo Musyoka. I applaud their decision to work with @UKenyatta and his government. Now, we can work in unison for the benefit of the Ukambani region.#BillyNaMabruk #RadioMaisha,” reads part of his Facebook post.
Kalonzo had said the decision was reached after consulting various members of his Wiper party.
“After consultations with our greater membership and party structures and in the spirit of a united Kenya, we commit to working with President Uhuru Kenyatta in his fight against corruption as well as his broad agenda of transforming this country under the Big Four agenda, which is part of Vision 2030,"Kalonzo said in a statement circulated to various media houses.
Kalonzo and Mutua have been the greatest political rivals since the latter defected from Wiper.
Mutua has been giving Kalonzo sleepless nights after he declared to contest for Presidency in 2022.
