The group has been firing shots at the initiative and its task force which has since concluded its report writing session and is set to hand it to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking when they accompanied the DP to Mumias on Friday, the group once again vowed to shoot the BBI report down should it propose unsuitable constitutional changes.

Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali claimed the BBI task force has ill intentions, hence the long time the BBI it has taken to prepare the document after collecting views from Kenyans.

"How come it has taken this long to prepare this report? It appears to have an ill-intention for this country,” said the lawmaker.

According to the National Assembly Majority Whip, the plan is to frustrate devolution.

His comments were echoed by West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi, when the DP toured North Mugirango constituency.

He said that the task force would have found it necessary to make the content of it's report public by now, claiming that its instead hiding it from the public.

"If the BBI committee got genuine views from Kenyans, why are they hiding their report?" he posed.

The group has claimed that the BBI taskforce is after a referendum, with the intention of creating extra executive positions to accommodate election losers.
