Who are these eligible for verification?

According to Tweeter, an account may be verified if it is determined to be an account of public interest. These include accounts run by politicians, musicians, journalists, those in fashions, media, acting, businesses, religion, government , etc.

You might have all the listed above, but Tweeter fails to verify you, many influential politicians are yet to be verified, it needs a plan.

Here are ways to maximize your chances at getting verified on Twitter if your account is of public interest

1. Ensure your account has been consistently active for the past few weeks before applying for verification

This is simply to let tweeter community know you are ready to go

2.  For people's profiles, add a cover photo that shows you doing something important

For instance, a photo showing you attending an important meeting, giving a lecture, attending a public rally etc. You will also be required to send your passport 

3. Send variety of links

These are links to your other accounts, websites, businesses, etc. that shows you telling nothing but facts. Tweeter suggests that you provide at least two links and a maximum of five.

4.  For individuals, use the biggest job title you can in your bio

List the biggest job you are doing and a link to the company/business you are working for.

5. Link to other verified Twitter accounts in your bio

You can say for instance, I am William Kabogo, a lawyer working at @Omd-ke if ODM Kenya is already verified
