Allies of the Deputy President William Ruto have once again fired shots at the opposition for overusing Ruto's name in their functions.
Led by Soi MP Caleb Kositany, the leaders are now claiming that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has gotten to an extent that it's now popularising Ruto through its attacks.
He said that its time the party shifted attention from the DP and concentrated on itself, and use the opportunity to prepare for the 2022 elections, specifically the presidential race.
“We want to tell ODM (Orange Democratic Movement) that they have marketed the DP enough through their attacks against him. Thank you. Please now market your candidate,” he was quoted by the Nation.
Kositany was speaking during a funeral service in Uasin Gishu county on Tuesday, where he also poked holes into the impeachment threats against Ruto by the opposition.
This comes only a day after Siaya Senator James Orengo talked of his plans to oust the DP through a vote of no confidence.
He noted that the bid is unrealistic and will have to as well oust President Uhuru Kenyatta, which is close to impossible.
"There is no way you can separate the presidency.
Kenyans voted for President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, and you cannot separate the two. Mr Ruto is a God-fearing and hardworking person even if you call him names,” he added.
Raila's allies have been bashing the DP for among others, blocking the war on corruption and blackmailing the President to support him in return come 2022.
