The latter was in October impeached by Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) on grounds of incompetence and bias, before she was reinstated by the court.

And on Monday, the Kisumu Labour Relations Court ruled that she will uninterruptedly preside over the house business until her case is heard and determined.

Justice Nduma Nderi extended an initial ruling that was issued on October 16 2018, keeping the speaker in office despite rejection by majority members.

“I therefore extend the interim orders of 16th October 2018 and order the petitioner to be reinstated as speaker pending hearing and determination of the case,” the Judge is quoted by the Nation.

The house has since remained divided down the middle, with a sizable number of members against her, and the remaining standing with the speaker.

Members allied to Ayoo have accused their counterparts of incapacitating the house, and have since threatened to resign and seek fresh mandate.

The group vowed last week that they will hand over their letters of resignation to the speaker this week should the house not be dissolved.
