Deputy President William Ruto has accused the media of spreading false reports about Jubilee's unity.
Speaking on Sunday, the DP said that Jubilee party was still intact contrary to media reports alleging disunity among the top leadership.
Ruto who was speaking at Rititi PCEA parish and Mathaithi church in Mathira, Nyeri, during two fundraisers urged Kenyans to ignore the rumours.
“This is the time to unite Kenyans and deliver services such as the construction of roads, providing electricity and improving education and health. Sometimes back, our President told us the biggest role of newspapers is wrapping meat," said Ruto.
During the fundraiser, the DP gave a personal donation of Sh1 million and another Sh1 million from President Uhuru Kenyatta. The money is meant to purchase of the church bus.
He later proceeded to Mathaithi, where he also gave out similar amounts to complete the church construction.
His sentiments were echoed by Senate deputy speaker Kithure Kindiki.
“There is no problem in Jubilee. We are together moving forward,” he said.
Recently, Jubilee leaders have been speaking from a different script after the March 9 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
