Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has launched a scathing attack on COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli over his remarks about Deputy President William.
Maangi slammed Atwoli for undermining DP Ruto over 2022 succession politics.
He termed Atwoli 'a desperate person jumping into things he knows nothing about'.
"I want to tell Atwoli that he should not cross the red line. His remarks that DP Ruto's name won't be on the ballot are unacceptable and uncalled for. He has no powers to decide on who should be on the ballot in 2022," said Maangi.
Maangi, who is perceived as a close ally to DP Ruto, reiterated that Kenyans will decide on who will become the next president when the right time comes.
He argued that people like Atwoli need to be ignored because they know nothing on matters politics.
"Atwoli is just a confused man who has forgotten his roles as COTU secretary general. I wish to remind him that he should defend workers' rights and stop engaging in politics where he can't either win or be heard," added Maangi.
Maangi spoke on Sunday at Nyagesa Lutheran church, Bomachoge Chache Sub County where after attending a church service.
