Renowned Citizen Television journalist Francis Gachuri has mourned his colleague and veteran Mohammed Juma Njuguna who passed on Saturday.
Mr Njuguna died after a battle with illness at the Nairobi Hospital. In a short but moving post on Facebook, Gachuri described the veteran football commentator, who was popular for his quirky phrases and endless theatrics, as a legend and a man of immense experience.
He went on to say that it had been an honour to have shared an office and a professional with Njuguna.
"Mohamed Juma Njuguna, a LEGEND, a man of immense experience in journalism has PASSED on this morning. I am humbled to have shared an office and a profession with Moha. Fare the well Moha, " Francis Gachuri's moving post read.
Mohamed Njuguna will be buried today at the Kariokor Cemetery in line with Islamic traditions.He did a stint at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) and Citizen Television.
Mr Njuguna was a pioneer of the English Premier League (EPL) commentary in Kenya.
His first World Cup commentary was in 2002 during the South Korea World Cup which he said, in a television interview, he commentated alone.
Torome Tirike, who is currently plying his trade at K24, would join him as a co-commentator in later editions.
