Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has asked Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to reach out to other leaders willing to support his 2022 presidential bid.
Ngilu says Kalonzo needs the backing of other communities to successfully bid for the presidential election in 2022.
Speaking in Kitui town on Tuesday, Ngilu asked Kalonzo to carefully reach out to top politicians who will be willing to support him.
She said Ukambani alone cannot make Kalonzo President.
"Kalonzo must reach out to like-minded leaders to be sure of winning in 2022 and we are ready to help him," Ngilu said.
Ngilu said the former Vice President has blessings of the Kamba community.
"He is our candidate in 2022 and we will reach out to other Kenyans to support his candidature," she said.
The governor said Kalonzo has what it takes to be President in the forthcoming polls.
She said Kalonzo is clean and will be the perfect leader to spearhead the war against corruption and tribalism.
"Kalonzo is among few leaders whose integrity cannot be questioned and he is fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022," Ngilu said.
Governor Ngilu vowed to lead massive voter registration drive in Ukambani region in the push to make Kalonzo President in 2022.
Kalonzo and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua are among top politicians who have declared the interest in the 2022 presidential polls.
