Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga on Monday hit out at Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria over his New Year's Eve remarks.
Wanga was reacting to the recent exchange of words between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Kuria over development in Central Kenya.
Wanga wondered why Kuria only realised that the Mt Kenya region was lagging behind in terms of development after the Head of State toured Kisumu and Siaya counties last month.
The outspoken MP noted that the Nyanza region is also part of Kenya and residents in the area have a right to development.
"Did Hon Moses Kuria only realise no development is going to Central after Uhuru Kenyatta came to Kisumu and Siaya last month? It's a classic case of a child who stopped breastfeeding running after the mother after a younger sibling is born. Nyanza pia ni Kenya," she tweeted.
Kuria responded by telling off Wanga in a humorous manner.
"Wewe Mungwana achana na mimi mshenzi," he replied.
Kuria stirred a heated debate on New Year's Eve after he accused Uhuru of neglecting the Mt Kenya region despite receiving overwhelming support from residents in the 2017 polls.
"I want to say this, as we come to the end of 2018, I want you to think seriously about your habit of voting in large numbers only to end up missing out on development projects," said Kuria.
On Monday, Uhuru responded by terming his critics "idiots", adding that he will ensure development is distributed across the country.
"I will ensure every corner of this country gets development. That way, these politics of patronage will end so that all areas can grow regardless of who is in power. Kwa hivyo hawa washenzi waachane na mimi (let those idiots stop bothering me)," said Uhuru during an event in Mombasa.
