The wanted officials include 32 from KRA’s Domestic Taxes Department, 15 from the Customs and Border Control and one from the Investigations and Enforcement Department.

In a statement posted on the DCI's official Twitter handle, Kinoti said the suspects have gone into hiding after 41 others were arrested on Friday over allegations of aiding tax evasion and bribery.

The suspects are also said to have fraudulently cleared cargo and altered tax returns to help prominent businessmen evade tax.

“The following listed suspects who are connected with the ongoing investigations @KRACorporate are hereby compelled to report @DCI Kenya Headquarters- Investigations Bureau (IB Block) on Monday 13th May 2019 by 7: 00 AM without fail,” the DCI tweeted on Sunday.

On Friday, Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji said 80 senior and middle-level officials at KRA are under investigations for aiding tax evasion.

Haji said the officials will be arraigned in court once the DCI completes the investigations.

The DPP assured Kenyans that the war on corruption will continue unhindered, adding that the same will be done within the confines of the law.
