A man from Emburugo village, Suguta sub-location in Nyaribari Masaba, Kisii County, is fighting for his life at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital after he was brutally attacked by a man who caught him with his wife.
James Obiero is said to have busted Justus Ososi at a chang'aa den with his wife Josephine Moraa.
"Obiero found his wife drinking with Ososi at the chang'aa den. He got angry and attacked Ososi with the panga cutting him several times on the head and left hand," said Paul Ocharo, a witness.
Mr Ocharo said Obiero fled the scene after committing the crime.
"Ososi was taken to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital where he is currently fighting for his life," said Ocharo.
According to Ocharo, Obiero has been complaining about his wife having extramarital affairs.
Area assistant chief Enock Nyangaresi condemned the incident, saying the woman separated with Obiero but she returned to the village after Ososi invited her.
"Moraa has become adulterous. It is sad that she can't even respect her husband," said the chief.
He said that police have launched a manhunt for Obiero and warned married women against being unfaithful to their husbands.
