Masii MCA Betty Nzisa told the locals who had grabbed public land earmarked for road construction to surrender them.

Nzisa also said those who have enchroached the road reserve should move out before they are forcibly pushed out by the relevant authorities.

She said the locals should keep off road reserves so as to give those constructing the roads ample time to do their jobs.

Nzisa said some of the residents have invaded road reserves, they have cultivated and erected structures thereby blocking them.

"You will find there is a funeral but vehicles can't pass because there's no way since people encroached on the land. Be wary that if you do so, it may lead to destruction or loss of property," Nzisa said.

She called on the county surveyor to mark roads in Masii by erecting beacons.

"It's important that the surveyor put marks on the road so that the residents can know where to develop without crossing the lines," she said.

Nzisa said those who are not sure of the status of a particular piece of land should request for a map from the Sub-county's Lands Board.
