Bomet East MP Beatrice Kones is mourning the untimely demise of her daughter.
According to emerging details, the MP lost her daughter Vicky Chebet Kones on Tuesday night.
Nation reported the death which has occurred only two months after the politician’s son allegedly took his life in Nakuru.
“Vicky had been unwell but her condition worsened on Tuesday night. She was rushed to hospital where the doctors tried to stabilise her but, unfortunately, she did not make it,” her brother Kevin Kones said.
Vicky, as she was popularly known, was thrust to the limelight by her addiction to alcoholism.
She was taken to rehabilitation centres and started helping other drug addicts recover from the same.
Kenyans consoled the late Kipkalya Kone’s family as they said two deaths in a span of months are too painful for the family.
“Oh not again. The grave where we interred the late brother is still fresh, even the roses are fresh and yet death has no sympathy (sic).” David Metei wrote.
Carol Chebet remembered the late is a soft-spoken and ‘good-hearted’ lady who helped her quit bottle after years of ‘dirty living’.Details about Vicky’s burial are not yet out.
