The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga Wednesday weighed in on mounting speculation fueled by the media about his impending Nyanza tour with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Odinga denied any plans for the much-hyped tour, saying that such reports were propaganda masquerading as truths spread with the intention of making money.
"I don't know what ailment the media is suffering from. There are reports that there will be a tour of Nyanza with the intention of launching projects. That is propaganda orchestrated by the media so that they can make money. If there is any information, it should come from the office of the president. If I have information, it will come from my office," Odinga said.
This is the first time that he has addressed such speculations head-on since the dramatic handshake between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta that took the nation by surprise after weeks of political tensions.
Odinga spoke at Orange House as he offered his endorsement of former minister Ochilo Ayako.
