Kalonzo says that corruption is the biggest obstacle that could prevent President Uhuru Kenyatta from actualizing his Big Four agenda.

The former Vice President said that Kenyans have confidence in President Kenyatta and he should mercilessly deal with corrupt officials in government.

"The President should not fear to confront corruption if he wants to leave a good legacy and also achieve his government development agenda," he said as quoted by a local daily.

Kalonzo warned that unless tamed, corruption will cripple the country's economy and push Kenyans to higher levels of poverty.

Kalonzo said that President Kenyatta has the political goodwill to confront graft.

"We will support him in the fight against corruption so that we can safeguard taxpayers money and resources," the Wiper leader said.

President Kenyatta has vowed to eliminate graft in both the national and county government.

This comes as the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji says that investigation into corruption scandals is active.

In an interview with the media last week, Haji said that various files forwarded to him are being perused and those culpable will be arrested and charged in court.

On Saturday, the DPP ordered the arrest of top managers at the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) over alleged fraudulent tenders.

The managers and directors of certain companies will be arraigned in court on Monday to answer to corruption-related charges.
