Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has scolded supporters of Migori Governor Okoth Obado, accusing them of 'maligning' Raila Odinga's name.
Last week, a section of supports blamed Mr. Odinga and Junet Mohammed for Governor Obado's tribulations in the ongoing murder probe of Sharon Otieno.
And in a bold message at Suna West on Saturday, Owino waded into the debate insisting that the case is 'purely criminal' and the accused should prove his innocence.
"As ODM, we have nothing at all to do with his (Obado) tribulations leave alone Raila. This is purely a criminal case.
"Let us give authorities humble time to do their job. Let's not drag people's names unnecessarily," he said.
The ODM team under stewardship of James Orengo had camped in the region to campaign for Ochillo Ayacko, who is the party's candidate in senatorial by-election.
Mr. Obado along with his aides Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero are directly linked to the mysterious murder of Sharon Otieno, who was the governor's girlfriend.
The county boss is set to hear determination for his bail on October 8th.
Even at the court, ODM party has kept a distance with only former Senator Bonnie Khalwale and former Kisumu governor Jackie Ranguma showing up in solidarity with him.
