Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has trashed former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama's claims that police put him under house arrest during ex-Prime Minister Raila Odinga's inauguration early this year.
Kalonzo said he intentionally skipped the controversial swearing in with Raila's knowledge.
‘’I had made up my mind that I was not going to take the oath. Even Raila knew he was going for it alone, I never said I was under arrest," Kalonzo said.
He spoke during an interview at a local television on Tuesday night.
Kalonzo said as a lawyer, he was aware that the oathing ceremony was against the law hence unnecessary.
He said Raila was misadvised to take the oath.
The Wiper leader said he was called names for snabbing the swearing in.
Kalonzo said he doesn’t regret not taking the oath.
He said he never betrayed his followers at all.
Kalonzo’s sentiments contradict Muthama's who said the Wiper leader was unable to take the oath since he was under house arrest.
Muthama made the claims at a burial in Kitui County in February this year.
This contradiction leaves questions whether the Ukambani politician lie to Kenyans on why Kalonzo ditched the inauguration.
