Jeremy Mikanze who is a former Secretary General for the School of Arts and Social Sciences at Moi University claims Winfred Kajuju is almost losing her inherited property to her stepson John Karimi due to corruption.

“This is a story of a single mother who has been denied justice due to corruption and bribery at Nkubu Magistrate Law courts. This is not the first time someone is losing her property in court due to corruption.  In fact, I am sure there are thousands of similar stories,” Mikanze noted in an interview with Hivisasa

The widow and her stepson have been engaging in court battles since last year. At first, Kajuju secured a victory in court but the case has been recalled and she is afraid she might lose her property this time around.

“In the first succession case No.38 of 2018, Kajuju won against Kirimi. However, it has emerged that some prosecutors in the said court, forged documents and filed another case against her.  Although Justice Irura ordered for the investigation of the chief prosecutor and expulsion of Citation No.15 of 2018 from the records, the police did not investigate the matter,” Mikanze explained.

According to the young university politician, Kajuju has so far lost her tea plantation, a cow and rental houses to John Kirimi.

Mikanze has urged human rights activists from the Kesses-based campus and beyond to join him in ensuring the widow gets justice.
