According to the first term governor, the MCAs want to impeach her for standing against their alleged demands for luxury at the expense of taxpayers' money.

The Kitui county boss claims that the MCAs' refusal to approve the supplementary budget is part of a wider political scheme to have her removed from the office.

Governor Ngilu alleges that Kitui MCAs are working on orders from certain people to frustrate her administration.

“I am not surprised that they are planning to remove me from office, but as I said earlier, I am not afraid,” Ngilu said.

She addressed the press in Kitui town on Wednesday.

Ngilu said she will stand firm and protect the interests of Kitui people.

The NARC governor urged Kitui residents to remain calm and ignore propaganda being spread against her and the county government.

Ngilu said the graft allegations in her administration are just political noise.

The governor is embroiled in a tussle with the MCAs over a supplementary budget.

She has accused the county legislators of demanding for luxury retreats.

The MCAs, on the other hand, accuse Ngilu of perpetrating graft in the county government.

They have vowed not to approve the supplementary budget.
