A Jubilee senator from Rift Valley region has lamented that President Uhuru Kenyatta may have after all abandoned the region despite supporting him in all presidential elections since 2002.
Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot in a tweet on Saturday, said Uhuru gas marginalised the Kalenjin community despite solidly backing his bid four times, adding that the Head of State has never summoned leaders from the area to discuss development.
"Pres @UKenyatta has met leaders from all communities to discuss dev't agenda save for those from the one community that has stood with him and voted to a man 4 him in all his pres elections. What did we wrong you so badly sir?" he paused.
In recent months, Uhuru has been traversing across the country opening various projects, a move that has seen him visit Nyanza region thrice in two months.
Uhuru, who has often warned against early campaigns, vowed to engage leaders who are focused on uplifting livelihoods of their people. He has also vowed to snub those derailing his Big Four agenda.
Political analyst Edward Kisiang'ani however says President Uhuru Kenyatta may have after all fallen out with his deputy, a move he says manifests itself following DP William Ruto's Saturday salvos over the fight against graft.
"This weekend's comments by DP Ruto alongside his allies on the fight against corruption is enough confirmation the President's relationship with his deputy has deteriorated to very alarming levels. The two top politicians are now worlds apart n shud officially part," he wrote.
