The fourth-year medical examinations were cancelled on Thursday at Moi University after a rumour of exam leakage.
University's academic board reached the decision after a meeting on Wednesday.
According to the board, the medical exams were recalled after a suspicion of leakage brought by social media.
Dean at the Moi University School of Medicine Prof. Lukoye Atwoli said all exams that started on Monday were cancelled and investigations have begun.
"So far, we have established there was no actual cheating, but there were widespread claims on social media that undermined the integrity of the exams," Prof. Lukoye was quoted by a local daily.
The board said it was ready to handle such examinations problems with the option of having other tests to give students.
Medical students will, therefore, sit for their new exams from 6th-14th December.
Written exams for medical students that have been canceled and rescheduled constitutes 25 per cent of the end year test with 75 per cent coming from continuous assessments tests and practical examinations.
“If a student fails the practical clinical examinations where they are required to observe a patient, provide a diagnosis and a plan for treatment in front of a panel of examiners he or she would have failed the whole exam despite how they perform in the written one,” noted Prof. Lukoye.
