Former Kathiani Member of Parliament Wavinya Ndeti has slammed Wajir East Member of Parliament Rashid Amin for allegedly assaulting Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi in Parliament.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, Ndeti termed the act as shameful and wondered whether the MP has female relatives.
Ndeti, who is the chairperson of the Kenya Water Institute (KEWI) went ahead to tell the MP that no decent man beats a woman.
"Hon Rashid Amin, no decent man lays his hand on a woman. Shame, shame on you!!! Do you have a mother, sister, grandmother, auntie... Utatia akili, utakoma ubishi," read Ndeti's post.
The vocal politician proceeded to comment on her post, adding that men are supposed to love, protect and guide, as outlined in the Bible.
Ndeti joins several women leaders who have condemned the incident that is said to have occurred on Thursday at Parliament buildings, in the presence of Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga.
Mr Amin was quizzed at Parliament Police Station before he was arrested and detained at the Central Police Station.
