Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has said ex-Jubilee party's Vice Chairman David Murathe is entitled to speak on the 2022 presidential election debate.
In a tweet, which she posted on Tuesday, Ndeti said Murathe’s statement does not reflect the will of the Kikuyu community.
She said Deputy President William Ruto has agreed that there is no debt to be paid between the Kalenjin and Kikuyu community when that time comes.
Ndeti, who lost the Machakos governorship race to Alfred Mutua, argued that Murathe is just like any other Kenyan who is entitled to speak.
She twitted after an interview on Hot 96.
“DP William Ruto himself has stated that he doesn't owe anyone or any community any debt. David Murathe's comments should not be construed to be the community's sentiments, those are his own personal comments which he's entitled to constitutionally,” she said.
Murathe's remarks made him resign from the Jubilee party's Vice Chairman seat.
His sentiments caused a storm in the political outfit before he chose to bow down to pressure.
A section of Jubilee leaders accused Murathe of being used by some leaders to cause tension in the ruling party ahead of 2022 polls.
Ndeti has kept off from the political scene after losing the governorship appeal case at the Supreme Court.
