Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, officially opened the Devolution Sensitization Week Exhibition, the second of its kind hosted at Makadara grounds in the heart of Mombasa.
The governor emphasised and made clear his vehement opposition to the slashing of Equitable Sharable Revenue to Counties by a whooping Sh9 billion.
"It is not acceptable coming at a time when Counties are asking for more resources to meet the ever increasing demands from our people at grassroots level," he said on Tuesday.
Joho who was accompanied by his Deputy Dr William Kingi, said the County Government of Mombasa is showcasing its milestones since the birth of devolution.
He urged the residents to come and interact with county administration officers and engage them fully on issues pertaining to service delivery.
The four-day event will see 14 Council of Governors' Technical Committees engage with members of the public on devolved functions and the progress made by the 47 County governments so far.
Participants will also be able to engage with representatives from the all the 47 county administration.
