Making his contribution in the House Wednesday last week during a debate on the County Allocation Revenue Bill 2019, Duale accused Senators of 'dining with the mother of corruption' after they held Senate sittings in Kitui County.

The second edition of 'Senate Mashinani' was held in the Kitui County Assembly from Monday to Friday last week (September 16 to 20).

"How can the Senate go and dine with the governor of Kitui who we know is the mother of corruption in this country?" Duale said as quoted by Mauvaoo.

The remarks attracted harsh criticism from Ngilu who accused unnamed politician of using the Garissa Township MP to attack her.

Taking to Twitter to express her anger, Friday, the county boss labelled the politician as the 'Goliath of corruption' and warned them against pointing an accusing finger at others over corruption.

"When a dog barks carelessly you don't question the dog, you find the owner. Mr.#GoliathOfCorruption, please put a leash on your dog. Let it bark at you because you are the high priest of corruption. Mashamba (lands), Dams, Forests, Maize etc. Don’t throw stones when you live in a glass house," she tweeted.

Even though Ngilu did not drop any name, it can be speculated she was attacking Deputy President William Ruto who in 2015 was branded by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as the 'high priest of corruption'.

“Right now we are talking about the Uganda-Kenya sugar deal, so the high priest of corruption in Kenya should not divert our attention to other issues,” Raila said as quoted by Daily Nation in an apparent reference to the DP

Ngilu is a senior member of Team Embrace which rallies behind the handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta and is opposed to Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
