The colon, also known as the large bowel or large intestine is an organ in the digestive system of the human body.

Mercy Etyang a nutritionist at a private hospital in Nairobi's Buruburu area says that apples also relieve constipation, diarrhoea and inflation in the large and small intestines.
2. Pawpaw ‘Papaya’
It is a tropical fruit that is rich in sugar, fibre and papain enzyme.
The enzyme helps in the digestion of food and also strengthens the colon walls.
Ms Etyang notes that pawpaw also promotes gastrointestinal movement in the colon.
3. Avocado
It contains large quantities of Vitamin K, folic acid and Vitamin B and also omega fatty acids which cleanse, lubricate and nourish the colon and also help flush out toxins.
Ms Etyang says that you should adopt natural foods in cleansing the colon and body system before going for medical pills.
