A Catholic Bishop has told Deputy President William Ruto to start campaigning early.
According to a local daily, Embu Catholic Bishop Paul Kihara said this is the right moment for politicians to go around the country in order for the voters to know them.
Kihara made the remarks during a church service at St Thomas Moore Kairuri church where Ruto worshipped on Sunday during his tour of Embu County.
The church leader also urged politicians who crisscross the country to ensure they preach peace.
The remarks might rattle President Uhuru Kenyatta who has made a tough stand on those politicking.
Uhuru has told leaders to shun politics and instead focus on his Big Four Agenda.
