Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has said Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
Muthama said the former Vice President is experienced enough to take over from President Kenyatta when his term comes to an end in 2022.
The Wiper politician said the country will be in good hands if Kalonzo ascends to power in the much anticipated 2022 general election.
“Kalonzo Musyoka has the experience and every quality a president should have and I think Kenyans will elect him as their next president in 2022,” Muthama said.
He made the sentiments during an interview in a local TV station on Monday.
The former senator said as Wiper politicians, they are focused on making Kalonzo president in 2022.
“We have a strategy and our focus is to catapult Kalonzo with the help of Kenyans to the presidency in 2022,” Muthama added.
Muthama said Kalonzo is ready to work with other leaders ahead of 2022 so long as he remains the presidential candidate.
There have been claims that the Wiper leader could partner with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi ahead of the 2022 polls.
Last week, Kalonzo said his meeting with former retired president Daniel Arap Moi will take place soon.
Political pundits argue that Kalonzo is seeking Moi’s blessings as he prepares for the 2022 presidential contest.
Sources within Wiper party says that Kalonzo is likely to go it alone if he fails to secure partnership.
Kalonzo's Wiper Party is also likely to re-brand before the 2022 polls.
