Kenyans should forget about development and continue working in their own businesses ahead of 2022 polls, North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko has said.
In the past few months, two factions have emerged within Jubilee Party, with one pushing for DP William Ruto's bid (Tangatanga) while another one aligning itself to President Uhuru Kenyatta (Kieleweke).
At a fundraiser in Kiabonyoru ward on Saturday, Mr Nyamoko however, rubbished the Big Four agenda, arguing that politicians are already in a campaign mode.
"Let me tell you, expect no development and that's an assurance. 2022 politics started the moment President Uhuru Kenyatta assumed office for the second term. Politicians are preparing for 2022," he said.
For months now, President Uhuru Kenyatta has been urging politicians to stop politicking but a number of them have defied his directive.
On the county government, the former assembly speaker noted that Governor John Nyagarama can do little before 2022, arguing that he has also entangled himself in murky succession battle.
"Even here in Nyamira. Expect nothing from Governor John Nyagarama. He has not shown any signs of making things better at all," added Nyamoko.
According to him, several bodaboda riders are in the county government of Nyamira payroll even though they do not report to work.
