The rift between Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has continued to take center stage in Ukambani politics.

Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti revealed that Kalonzo attempted to solve the differences between the governor and himself but his efforts proved futile.

Ndeti said Kalonzo reached out to Archbishop Timothy Ndambuki to try and settle their differences but nothing was forthcoming.

“The party leader tried talking to him even through Archbishop Ndambuki. What can we do now? Let them just work and leave our party leader alone. We need peace in Ukambani,” Ndeti twitted.

Ndeti had earlier urged Kibwana to resign from the party's chairmanship position in a smooth manner instead of throwing tantrums.

She said the county boss should not hold the party members at ransom when she can leave at his own will.

“The Wiper chair has requested to be relieved of his position. Prof. with all due respect, no one is holding you at ransom. Please resign and leave our party dignifiedly,” she wrote on her Twitter account.

Kibwana has accused the Wiper leader of intimidating him among other leaders in the political outfit.

He said Kalonzo has killed democracy in the party through MCAs.
