Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has named two National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principals who he says should succeed former prime minister Raila Odinga as official opposition leaders.
Khalwale in an interview with Citizen Television told Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula to step forward and take over the management of the opposition immediately adding that power in Kenya is not given on a silver plate.
"There is no point in trying to be a gentleman. To Mudavadi and Wetangula, power will not be given. They should start behaving ‘badly in a good way' by demanding their positions in Parliament as the Opposition," he said during the live interview.
NASA has been silent over who should take over the management of the opposition affairs since the historic meeting between opposition leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta at Harambee House on March 9.
Although Wetangula and Mudavadi claim that Raila is now in government following the famous golden handshake, Raila and ODM deny the claims saying the former Langata MP is still in NASA and has no plans of ditching the political formation anytime soon.
Khalwale is presently pushing for a political alliance between Mudavadi, Wetangula and Deputy President William Ruto ahead of 2022.
