A Kisii born Catholic priest has been Killed in Mamfe, Southwest of Cameroon by Military gunfire. Catholic News Agency has reported.
According to reports, Cosmas Ondari Omboto who hails from Kimai, Sengera Parish in Bomachoge Chache Kisii County, was shot dead on Wednesday 21st amid the political conflict that has faced the country in the recent years.
Omboto has been serving in the said Country since March 2017 after he was ordained. he is now the second priest to be killed is a member of Mill Hill Missionaries.
Its reported that a group of religious Sisters were kidnapped and released early this month by Guerillas, Northwest of Cameroon.
In the same province that Omboto was Shot, Father Alexander Sob Nougi was also killed on July 20th this year.
According to illhillmissionaries.com, Omboto was ordained in on 26th March in Kisii by Bishop Joseph Mairura where he was immediately appointed to the diocese of Mafe, in Cameroon.
Its reported that Hundreds of people have died following the clashes where 300,000 refugees have been sent to Nigeria and more than 80,000 displaced internally in Cameroon.
Its high time we pray for our Missionaries serving in different parts of the world especially Cameroon which is currently facing political conflict for God to intervene.
