According to the report, 12 companies were among those that benefited from the scandal, pocketing millions of shillings in an unprocedural way.

The companies are said to have supplied goods and services through single-sourcing, undelivered supplies and lack of documentation, which was against the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act.

Some of the companies include;

Pewin cabs – (Sh60,005,000 – taxi services) (Sh30,820,762 – dry-cleaning)

Inter Management Group – Sh70,542,140

Protel Studios – Sh67,504,808

Safaricom – Sh3,363,951

Ramji Haribhai Limited – Sh11,123,960

This is the latest scandal to hit the ministry after another scandal dominated the headlines during the Rio Olympics games.

The country is said to have lost huge sums of money through missing kits and over-inflated tickets for the athletes in 2016.

This scam comes a few weeks after the IAAF handed Kenya the rights to host the 2020 World Under 20 championships.
