According to the immediate former Bonchari MP John Opore, Raila is unfit to serve as president.

Opore said the former Prime Minister should give humble time to his juniors to take over country's leadership.

"Raila groomed DP Ruto politically. It is shameful that he wants to compete with the same person he helped to join politics sevral years ago," he said. 

The ex-MP who lost his seat during last year's polls on a Jubilee ticket insisted that DP Ruto's presidential bid won't be delayed by the referendum calls by Raila. 

"No even the referendum is going to stop DP Ruto from becoming the next President. Kenyans are tired with Raila," he added. 

Protus Kebati who served as Bonchari MP between in the 1990s also insisted that Raila must allow other leaders to vie for Presidency. 

"I lost my MP seat and I accepted to retire in peace. Raila should follow the same and go home to enjoy his pension in peace," said Kebati. 

Isaac Motari, a Jubilee youth leader said he grew up and met Raila in politics. 

"It is worrying that Raila doesn't want to go home and leave politics to his juniors. As a youth leader I am calling on Raila to go on retirement," he stated.
