Leaders of the new Transformation National Alliance (TNA) party on Monday presented their documents to the Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu as they seek to register the outfit.
Interim Secretary General Arnold Maliba and Chairman Wachira Keen presented their party code of conduct, logo, and constitution, days after preserving the party name.
However, the two insisted that the party has no links to President Uhuru Kenyatta's now defunct The National Alliance (TNA) which was broken ahead of the 2017 polls.
Speaking after presenting the documents, Maliba said that the similarities in acronyms and logo, both of which are birds, are just a matter of coincidence which were not planned.
"That is a matter of perception and sadly we cannot stop anyone from thinking that way. It's not a big thing to us anyway. However, we are not in any way linked to the former TNA,” he was quoted by Standard.
While Uhuru's TNA logo was a dove, the new party's logo is an eagle, the two also share the red colour, with the new party adding blue as it's other colour of identity.
Mr Wachira said that the party is the way to go, terming it the remedy to common citizen's problems.
“TNA will be the next big thing. It will be the party of ordinary mwananchi, unlike the other parties we have,” he said, after which the registrar confirmed receiving the documents.
Uhuru's TNA merged with 13 other members, among them Deputy President William Ruto's United Republican Party to form the ruling Jubilee Party.
