Busia Senator Amos Wako now says that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report will not be politically affected upon its conclusion and release.
The 14-member team consists persons picked by President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga after their truce early last year, to propose the best way forward on matters recurrent political wrangles and injustices.
The group has been crisscrossing the nation and meeting Kenyans in search of proposals and ideas, with Wako, who is a member, saying that the report will be independent.
Speaking on Tuesday, the former Attorney General added that the report will bring out all the views collected from Kenyans.
“We have not taken position on the raging constitutional debate in the country because that does not form part of our mandate. We will capture what Kenyans have said on various issues relating to socio-economic and political development," he said as quoted Nation.
Wako noted that most Kenyans have stressed on the need for inclusivity in governance, to foster employment and development.
However, Raila has been insisting that BBI will culminate in a referendum to expand the executive, and revert the nation to the parliamentary governance system.
