Speaking on Saturday, the former Subukia lawmaker blamed poor leadership and politics for the many problems currently troubling Kenyans.

He said that Kenyans once again landed in politicians' traps in the 2017 elections courtesy of many unfulfilled promises, and are now suffering.

He said that only 10 percent of Kenyans can proudly enjoy being Kenyans, as the remaining 90 fight a number of issues including economical problems and others.

"Wapo wakenya waliofika Kanani, japo ni wachache. Asilimia tisini ya wakenya bado wapo jangwani (Only 10 percent of Kenyans have reached Canaan, the rest are still in the desert)," he said during an interview on Cheche show, Radio Sauti ya Mwananchi.

He also raised concerns about poor working conditions Kenyans are subjected to in foreign agricultural farms operating within Kenya.

He narrated visiting one such farms in Thika earlier in the week, where he said he found Kenyans being harassed and mistreated by foreigners.

He blamed the government for the same, stressing on the need for it to ensure that rights of Kenyan citizens come before the income the government is awaiting from such firms in tax.

"Iweje wawekezaji wa kigeni wakija hapa wanadhulumu wakenya serikali ikiangalia? Serikali lazima ichukue hatua (the government cannot stand by as Kenyans are being abused in Kenya by foreigners, it needs to act)," he noted.
