In an interview on NTV's AM Live, the renowned lawyer said that there was a slight commotion in Muhoroni after some boys suddenly flashed placards as Odinga was speaking.

He, however, noted that the rowdy youth were swiftly dealt with by the residents, and removed from the meeting.

"A section... There were probably about between five and seven boys who came into the meeting, tried to heckle, but the residents themselves roughed them up and evicted them...

"It was not that the residents were opposed or Raila was heckled... As I understand it, it was not heckling, it was not the residents, it was a few of them... The five to seven boys as I understand it, their issue was not with Raila, but with the county government," Otiende said during the interview.

His remarks came after a local publication run a splash headline that Raila had been heckled, a claim that the law-maker strongly rebuffed.

Otiende noted that the rowdy youth wanted compensation for land taken for a project.

Odinga was in Kisumu over the weekend, and was accompanied by some Cabinet Secretaries, and Members of Parliament.
