Kitui Governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu is among the vocal Kamba politicians.
Ngilu who was elected governor on August 8, 2017, general election is also among the experienced female politicians in the country.
She joined active politics in 1992 when she won the Kitui Central Parliamentary seat.
Before joining politics in 1992, Ngilu worked as an office secretary.
She was the secretary to former Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Governor Duncan Ndegwa.
Ngilu then became the first woman to contest for Kenyan President in 1997.
The Kitui County boss has also held powerful positions in previous national governments.
A close ally of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, political pundits argue that Ngilu is among top politicians to watch-out in 2022 polls.
She is backing Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid.
